American medical missionary Henry William Boone brought Baseball to China in 1863. He founded the Shanghai Baseball Club.

Organized baseball games were established with a game between the St. Johns University and the Shanghai MCA baseball club in 1905.

However, in 1959 Mao Zedong disbanded all teams and outlawed baseball. After the Cultural Revolution ended, baseball activities restarted, and the China Baseball Association formed in 1974.

In 2002, the China Baseball League was formed, and China participated in the World Baseball Classic.

Baseball is fast gaining popularity in China. And with the sport's growing popularity, comes the interest in betting on the games.

A baseball bet is made by laying or taking money odds. It is based primarily on money lines. The minus (-) indicates the favorite; the plus (+) indicates the underdog. On money odds whenever there is a minus (-), you lay that amount to win a dollar; where there is a plus (+) you get that amount for every dollar wagered.

Money line betting is a bet based on a given price rather than a point spread. The team wagered on just has to win the game for the bet to win. On an over/under (total) wager, the total runs of the game by both teams combined, extra innings included, must fall over or under the side selected.
